Nightingales Leave Early

It has either been a very early year for Nightingales resulting in most nesting completed in May/June or breeding success has been poor.  Most males finished singing by early June and in one popular breeding site in Somerset, birds have already migrated. Only one late leaver was ringed in mid June as part of an ongoing study to determine breeding site fidelity.
